We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Coach Dispatcher to join our team. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth operation of passenger transport, handle dispatching duties, administrative support, and serve as a point of contact for drivers This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and strong communication abilities. Working directly with the Operations Manager, the Coach Dispatcher will play a key role in managing dispatch from the Sudbury terminal

Work Hours:

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00am-12:00pm, 1:00pm-5:00pm
  • Rotation of 24-hour after hours emergency on-call: one-week-on, one-week-off

Driver & Vehicle Coordination:

  • Ensure drivers are informed about their schedules, destinations, vehicle assignments, and any itinerary changes.
  • Assist drivers with questions and issues related to compliance, bus issues, and operational failures.
  • Verify hours of service, ensuring e-log compliance, and hours for payroll processing.

Dispatching:

  • Manage daily dispatching, including handling calls for schedules, lost and found items, and dispatch queries.
  • Ensure drivers have their most up-to-date itineraries, vehicle, and trip assignments.
  • Dispatch drivers and allocate vehicles appropriately.
  • Book accommodations and rental vehicles for drivers as needed.

24-Hour Emergency Dispatch:

  • Share 24-hour after hours on-call responsibility with colleagues, providing after-hours first point of contact on a rotating one-week-on, one-week-off basis.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with management to provide necessary support in their respective areas, such as dispatch, deadheads, and hotel bookings.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to respond quickly to challenges.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in transportation and dispatching is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of Hours of Service.
  • Valid BZ license is an asset or willingness to obtain.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
