About

Temporary position for 12 months

As a Compliance Advisor, Complaints Management, you help develop, roll out and coordinate the compliance framework and related regulations. You help ensure that measures comply with Desjardins Group's standards, including those related to employee and manager behaviours in their dealings within the organization and with third parties. You advise and support clients and partners on various initiatives related to important developments in your field. You propose solutions to improve or optimize standards, policies and programs. Your projects and initiatives require extensive knowledge of your line of business. You prepare recommendations, solutions and action plans based on the organization's objectives and priorities. You help solve complex problems using your analytical skills and detailed knowledge of your line of business. Coordination is critical. You interact with various contributors working in other fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. More specifically, you serve clients outside Quebec.

  • Handle complaints related to property and casualty insurance

  • Design, update, implement and monitor legal and regulatory compliance action plans, programs, solutions and tools to balance business needs, requirements and best practices

  • Diagnose issues, challenges and needs for your line of work to determine target outcomes

  • Analyze data. Conduct studies. Make recommendations to develop best practices for the organization

  • Help train internal practitioners, raise awareness and communicate information about the organization's ethics and compliance culture

  • Oversee activities in the business lines, where applicable

  • Help with outreach activities for internal and external partners and stakeholders

  • Represent your unit before committees and in dealings with stakeholders and organizational units

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in compliance or complaints management

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Experience as a property and casualty insurance claims advisor or agent

  • Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec

  • Expert proficiency of English, due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
