Position Summary
Project Manager, Payroll
Your goal in this position is to support the planning, development and implementation of key projects within the organization, including the promotion of health system integration and information systems. You will be a critical resource to lead projects, using project management best practices, and building strong relationships with internal and external partners. You will be the primary point of contact for the critical projects that they will be leading and will report to the Director, Finance. You are also highly organized, detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and are able to demonstrate understanding of health service integration. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers, learners, patients and families.

On a practical level, you will

  • Be responsible for the effective planning and implementation of the UKG time and attendance system
  • Lead, organize and facilitate project-related meetings, develop project reports and maintain project plans, presentations, statistics and other related documents, as required
  • Build and maintain relationships with all project partners and provide effective written and verbal communication
  • Proactively identify any project risks and recommend solutions and mitigation strategies
  • Ensure project deliverables are met on time, within budget and within scope
  • Be responsible for helping evolve North York General Hospital's Project Management methodology
  • Mentor and coach team members on project management principles
  • During critical times of any project implementation, you may be required to work off-hours and/or non-business hours

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business-related discipline an asset
  • PMP designation an asset
  • Experience with Human Capital Management software (Ultimate Kronos Group and Oracle) experience would be an asset.
  • Payroll experience in a unionized environment using a computerized payroll system is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in project leadership and management
  • At least 2 years' experience in implementing major clinical and non-clinical applications
  • Strong computer skills, including demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite, including MS Project
  • At least 2 years' experience in writing proposals and demonstrated ability to create original content and edit the work of others to meet current needs is an asset
  • Project management skills, with extensive knowledge of project management principles and tools
  • Extensive knowledge with business process design, impact analysis, change management and problem resolution
