Transdev is hiring multiple Transit Dispatcher / Scheduler for our Abbotsford, BC location

As a Casual Transit Dispatcher / Scheduler, you will be responsible for the efficient scheduling and dispatching of transit operators to ensure the timely delivery of service, while responding to real-time operational challenges. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and demonstrates strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Your role:

  • Prepare and manage daily driver schedules and vehicle assignments.
  • Dispatch transit operators in accordance with service requirements and policies.
  • Monitor service in real-time.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, supervisors, and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Track and input data related to attendance, service delivery, and incidents.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in scheduling and dispatching systems.
  • Assist with coverage planning for vacations, sick days, and unexpected absences.
  • HandyDart Dispatching and scheduling
  • Support emergency response and service recovery plans as needed.

Your profile:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in dispatching, scheduling, or customer service (preferred).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and dispatch software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of local geography and public transportation systems (an asset).
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

Your location:

  • This is a Casual, On-Call, Unionized Role in Abbotsford and Chilliwack locations, Work is assigned as needed.
  • There is a requirement to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
