The Opportunity
School of Business is seeking dynamic Instructors to teach our Business courses during weekday daytime. Courses may be delivered on SAIT's main campus in Calgary or remotely through a blend of synchronous virtual classes and asynchronous online activities.
Teaching assignments may include one or more of the following courses:
• SCMT 300 - Operations Planning and Scheduling
• SCMT 320 - Quality: A Supply Chain Perspective
• SCMT 350 - Operational Performance Analytics
Reporting to the Academic Chair, you bring initiative, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a passion for facilitating applied, real-world learning experiences. In this role, you will guide students toward achieving established learning outcomes, drawing on a wide range of instructional resources, methods, and technologies to promote their success.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues to foster a student-centered environment that is pedagogically sound, innovative, and well-supported by technology. Strong communication, excellent organization, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting are essential.
Note: SAIT, as a post-secondary institution, serves a diverse student population. Therefore, instructional duties may occasionally be required during early mornings, evenings, and weekends. If selected, specific scheduling arrangements will be discussed between you and the leader. The Role
- Facilitate courses, lesson plans, lectures, and learning activities.
- Prep, deliver, and mark all assessments, including examinations.
- Deliver and facilitate courses on-campus or through remote delivery tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom, Brightspace).
- Evaluate student progress and facilitate student achievement, including responding to emailed inquiries within two business days.
- Create an open and inclusive learning environment and show personal interest in student success.
- Collaborate with Faculty colleagues teaching the same course to support consistency across sections.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to learners and potential learners.
- Participate in orientation and training activities as assigned.
- Promote and support SAIT and School of Business strategies.
- Adhere to all of SAIT's policies and procedures.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management is required is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated relevant industry experience in in supply chain, logistics and/or procurement.
- Professional designations (such as Chartered Professional Accountant) may be required for specific courses.
- Experience in teaching, training, or mentoring is considered an asset.
- Preference may be given to candidates with prior SAIT experience teaching any of the courses listed in the job overview.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to large groups.
- Demonstrated professionalism, including a positive and respectful attitude.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with intermediate-level computing skills.
