Intern, Procurement Optimization (IT/OT)

This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11,
2026, until August 28, 2026.

Job Summary

Focus of
this internship is related to establishing a robust governance framework for
SAP, which will
include all agreements and projects across the organization including the S4 program.
This internship will entail day to day program management with all of our key
internal stakeholders
and be directly involved in the governance processes and various forums related to the S4
transition. The role will also look at putting proper steercos and performance
reviews in place
with SAP and support the preparation and negotiation of key SAP contracts. Building
a mapping of
the SAP contractual and licensing landscape. The CN SAP licensing landscape is very complex
and unclear. As a strategic supplier of CN, understanding and maintaining a proper
mapping of the contractual and licensing landscape would increase CN
Procurement's knowledge
and negotiation leverage on strategic negotiations going forward.

Major Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and centralize all data, agreements, and projects related to SAP in one robust governance framework
  • Establish governance reviews with SAP as well as with internal stakeholders, complementing what already exists, in order manage key actions and timelines of critical agreements and deliverables.
  • Leverage the end-to-end partnership and visibility of all CN spend with SAP for key negotiations and meetings with SAP and internal stakeholders.
  • Support the Procurement Specialist on all negotiations for new scopes of work with the vendors
  • Manage and track all change requests from the program and negotiate change requests with vendors
  • Coordinate with the different stakeholders to ensure contractual compliance
  • Keep track of commercial mechanisms such as payments holdbacks, forfeiture, earn-back credits, penalty clauses etc. and ensure claims are submitted on time
  • Keep track of overall vendor management performance and prepare reporting for upper management
  • Review SAP contracts in Ariba and document licenses, pricing, pricing metrics, quantities, renewal dates, restrictions, special clauses, termination rights, as well as any credits that can be claimed by CN (and other key information)
  • Coordinate with the internal stakeholders responsible for each of the licenses and ensure proper knowledge transfer and account management (particularly on commercial clauses or key dates)
  • Prepare claims where applicable
  • Establish strategies for negotiations

Requirements

  • Autonomous, confident with good sense of business acumen.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills - knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of other software such as SmartSheet and Tableau.
  • Fluently bilingual - both written and verbal (English, French).
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Interest and naturally curious
  • Effective communication skills

Education

  • Recently graduated or working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or equivalent.
