About
My client is developing the next generation of premium consumer hardware products, combining innovation in engineering, industrial design, and user experience. This programme spans multiple markets and product categories, integrating mechanical, electronic, and software components into a cohesive, high‑quality consumer device. They are looking for a Programme Manager to help coordinate and deliver this multi‑phase development effort. This role sits at the centre of the product journey — from early design concepts through to prototyping, tooling, testing, and launch. Role Overview
The Programme Manager will support the end‑to‑end delivery of a complex hardware development programme. You will coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage timelines, maintain programme governance, and ensure the project runs smoothly across internal and external partners. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who thrives in fast‑moving environments and enjoys working at the intersection of engineering, design, and operations. Key Responsibilities
Manage and update the integrated project plan across all phases of development — design, engineering, prototyping, testing, and launch. Coordinate cross‑functional teams and external suppliers involved in design, engineering, manufacturing, and compliance. Maintain central documentation including timelines, RACI matrices, risk logs, and progress trackers. Governance and Reporting
Establish and run programme governance with bi‑weekly sprint updates and monthly stakeholder progress reviews. Track and report performance against key programme KPIs such as cost, quality, and delivery timing. Ensure all compliance and documentation deliverables (e.g., risk assessments, eco‑design, IP records, RACI matrices) are completed and up to date. Delivery and Operations
Support the planning and execution of prototype builds and the associated testing cycles. Coordinate readiness activities with manufacturing partners, including tooling, production validation, and certification. Assist with logistics, planning, and cross‑team alignment during all development phases. Support post‑launch performance tracking and issue resolution. Maintain programme documentation and contribute to continuous improvement and product support materials. Required Skills and Experience
4–6 years’ experience in programme or project management within consumer hardware, appliances, electronics, or similar engineering‑led environments. Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, external development partners, or manufacturing suppliers. Exposure to compliance, testing, or product engineering processes. Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage complex multi‑work‑stream plans. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Familiarity with structured delivery approaches (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid). Comfortable analysing and reporting on KPI performance. Proactive problem‑solver who can drive progress, identify risks, and coordinate effectively across teams. Degree in Engineering, Product Design, Business, or a related discipline preferred. Certification in project management (PRINCE2, PMP, APM) is a plus. If this exciting opportunity could be of interest - please let me know ASAP. Interviews can be arranged on short notice.
