About
We are looking to add a Project Director – Hydropower to add to our Major Projects team.
The role will require being mobile within the country according to the projects being implemented.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare bids and project implementation;
- Negotiating agreements with subcontractors, sign letters of intent after discussion with the Vice-President, verifying agreements with subcontractors and sign them;
- Lead the Managers of the project and the Superintendents, ensure that the work carried out on the work sites meet the standards and objectives set for quality, safety, labour relations, quantity, deadlines and costs, and take the necessary corrective actions;
- Assist the Vice-President in the negotiation of the terms of client contracts;
- Analyze monthly, with the Project Managers under his responsibility, the control report the costs of its projects and report to the Vice-President;
- Assign staff on construction sites and monitor the productivity;
- Ensure satisfaction with respect for safety, cost, schedule and quality of work;
- Ensuring enforcement and compliance with EBC's health and safety specifications as well as project-specific prevention programs;
- Applying the quality system of the company in accordance with ISO standards and ensure the follow-up procedures with operational staff;
- Be responsible for site start-up meetings, periodic reviews, post-mortems and participation in planning reviews;
- Evaluating staff under their responsibility according to the company's policies and ensure their development;
- Any other tasks as required for the fulfillment of the Project Director mandate.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering civil or construction engineering;
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in project management;
- Experiment on large-scale hydropower projects;
- Bilingualism is an asset (French and English);
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Access);
- Knowledge of all management software.
- High mobility;
- Ability to manage a large-scale project or oversee several projects simultaneously, with the support of Project Managers;
- Initiative and leadership;
- Autonomy and initiative;
- Strong skills in management, negotiation, communication and problem solving;
- Strong ability to work in a team environment.
