The Opportunity


Innovate and Lead — In this role, you'll be at the forefront of mining infrastructure design, collaborating on transformative projects that push the boundaries of what's possible. We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer to lead and mentor within our #GlobalMining team. You'll play a pivotal role in designing underground backfill systems, tailings disposal, ore handling, dewatering systems, and more — shaping the future of mining infrastructure across Canada and beyond.

Your Impact

  • Design and review 3D models and mechanical layouts using AutoCAD, Plant3D, and other platforms
  • Establish drafting standards and QA/QC procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality deliverables
  • Validate drawings from junior designers and ensure technical accuracy across all phases
  • Lead time management across design phases to meet project milestones efficiently
  • Mentor junior staff and foster technical growth within the team
  • Contribute to feasibility and detailed design for shaft infrastructure, ventilation, and processing systems
  • Conduct site visits to validate designs and connect with real-world applications
  • Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Support cost estimating for proposals with practical design insights

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Design or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally with exposure to mining operations
  • Proven leadership in mentoring and guiding junior staff
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Plant3D; familiarity with SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, Bentley AutoPLANT, Civil3D, and Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable working in both field and office environments; valid driver's license required
  • Passion for designing systems that improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability in mining
  • Committed to excellence and continuous improvement in technical delivery

Compensation:

Salary range (in British Columbia): $71,500- $114,000

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
