As an Architectural Technical Coordinator, you will play a key role in coordinating, reviewing, and managing architectural design deliverables for the Light Rail Transit (LRT) project. You will ensure that all architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documents meet project standards and regulatory requirements. This position involves close collaboration with design consultants, contractors, and the technical office team to resolve architectural challenges and maintain alignment with project objectives

Job Description

Document Management:

  • Coordinate the preparation, review, and approval of architectural drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure compliance with project requirements and design intent.

  • Maintain accurate records of architectural documentation and ensure timely distribution to relevant stakeholders.

Design Coordination:

  • Assist in managing architectural interfaces between stations, elevated guideways, and other civil/structural elements.

  • Ensure architectural designs integrate seamlessly with mechanical, electrical, and civil systems.

Technical Support:

  • Support the preparation and submission of RFIs related to architectural aspects and manage responses effectively.

  • Review and track shop drawings, material submittals, and mock-ups for compliance with approved designs and specifications.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Verify that architectural works adhere to applicable building codes, accessibility standards, fire safety regulations, and transit authority guidelines.

  • Participate in design reviews and technical meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve architectural issues.

Construction Interface:

  • Coordinate with site teams to address architectural challenges during construction and ensure work aligns with approved drawings.

  • Assist in preparing as-built drawings and final documentation for handover.

Cost & Schedule Monitoring:

  • Support the evaluation of architectural scope against project budgets and schedules.

  • Track progress and report on architectural deliverables to ensure timely completion.

WORK CONDITIONS  

  • Primarily office-based with regular visits to construction sites for inspections and coordination.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.

Required Skills and Competencies

Desired Skills, Knowledge & Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology (or related field) is preferred.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in architectural coordination within large-scale infrastructure or transit projects is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of architectural design principles, construction methods, and materials.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and other design/drafting software.

  • Familiarity with project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong communication skills for liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of building codes, accessibility standards, and transit design guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with LRT or rail transit projects.

  • Advanced BIM coordination skills.

  • Understanding of sustainability and LEED principles.

  • Knowledge of quantity surveying and cost estimation is an asset.
