    Summary of Duties:

    Under the
    direction of the Director of Title & Rights, the
    Title and Rights Coordinator will perform administrative duties and assist in coordinating
    events and programs for the Title & Rights Department. This role
    will provide support to all aspects of the Land and Resources department to
    ensure smooth operation.

    Key Deliverables and Expectations:

  • Assist with community communication, advertising, and engagement on department updates and events.
  • Assist Managers and Director with planning and coordinating events and programs.
  • Assist Managers in scheduling and booking of meetings, agendas, minutes, and meeting packages.
  • Assist Director in planning and implementing overall business strategy and daily operations.
  • Work with Managers to set up a system to track project activity and produce a summary of programs and events.
  • Providing frontline support and assistance to community members as needed to fill in Land Registration Forms, or other land application forms.
  • Provide support in material and supply orders for office, field work, and programs.
  • Completes financial accounting and data entry duties, including recording and submitting purchase orders, cheque requisitions, and all payments.
  • Assist in tracking and managing expenditures and payroll timesheets.
  • Book, amend, or cancel facilities for events.
  • Book travel and accommodation for staff for events.
  • Represent the programs at events when required.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.
  • Experience and Attributes:

  • College degree, diploma in business administration or office administration or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2 years' experience in a general administrative or administrative assistant role, preferably in a First Nation environment.
  • Certificate in Office Administration or Finance Management is an asset. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the traditions, culture, protocols, and language of the Lil'wat First Nation is an asset.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and time management skills.
  • The ability to meet deadlines prioritizes assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong financial literacy and financial tracking abilities.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Motivated self-starter and with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members.
  • Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, including the vulnerable sector.
