About

General Rigging Estimator Full Time We are seeking an experienced General Rigging Estimator to develop accurate, detailed cost estimates for industrial projects of varying scope and complexity. This role supports Sales/Business Development and Operations by defining project requirements, preparing comprehensive proposals, maintaining strong vendor and client relationships, and contributing to the strategic pursuit of new work. The Estimator plays a critical role in ensuring proposals are competitive, aligned with company safety standards, and supportive of profitability and schedule expectations. Key Responsibilities Estimating Proposal Development Review project scope and technical details to prepare accurate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and related cost estimates. Develop well-documented, detailed proposals that support win ratios and gross profit targets. Plan for safe project execution and incorporate company safety culture into all estimates. Partner with the EHS team to identify hazards during the estimating phase and contribute to safety guideline development. Prepare detailed cost analyses for review with senior management. Ensure timely completion and submission of estimates. Vendor, Client, and Internal Coordination Manage bid pricing from vendors and subcontractors; maintain strong working relationships to support retention and competitive pricing. Maintain open, consistent communication with Sales and Operations to ensure accurate coordination of project requirements. Provide cost updates, including reviewing job costs from Project Managers and submitting change-order pricing; conduct site visits when scope changes are significant. Support project forecasting by tracking estimates, sales pipeline activity, and related reporting. Teamwork Professional Conduct Collaborate effectively across departments and participate fully in team-driven processes. Represent company values in all interactions with clients, vendors, and team members. Perform additional duties as assigned to support customer needs. Travel as required for project reviews, site evaluations, and client meetings. Experience Requirements Minimum 4 years of industrial construction experience. Experience in industrial sales or client-facing technical estimating. Proven experience developing, tracking, and reviewing budgets. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical plans, specifications, and supporting documentation. Strong experience producing detailed, accurate estimates under tight deadlines. Required Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing. Strong proficiency with numbers, math, and spreadsheet analysis. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency with the full Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Negotiation, forecasting, and change-management skills. Ability to adapt to change and work productively in a fast-paced environment. Strong client-relations abilities and conflict-resolution skills. Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration across all organization levels. Strong initiative, strategic problem-solving, and planning skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and high-volume estimating tasks. Education Associate or bachelors degree in engineering, construction management, technical sales, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant rigging/industrial project experience will be considered.
