We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our bustling warehouse in the heart of New York City, New York. This position is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our facility, supporting both inbound and outbound logistics operations. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and effectively to load, unload, transport, and stack materials and products. The ideal candidate possesses a valid forklift certification, a proven track record of safe operation, and a thorough understanding of warehouse safety protocols. You will work closely with our warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate handling of inventory. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload trucks and containers safely and efficiently.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and report any maintenance or safety issues.
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse.
- Assist with receiving and shipping activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate logs of material movements.
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including mandatory PPE usage.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Participate in inventory counts and support inventory control initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Valid Forklift Operator Certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of forklift operation and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform manual lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory flow.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
