About
We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our bustling warehouse in New York City, New York. This position is critical for the efficient movement of goods within our facility, ensuring that materials are safely and accurately transported. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) in a demanding logistics environment. Your primary responsibilities will include loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory to and from storage areas, and assisting with order fulfillment. A strong emphasis is placed on Safety; you must be adept at following all traffic rules within the warehouse and adhering to strict Safety protocols. The proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This role involves significant physical activity, including regular Lifting of items and maneuvering heavy loads. A keen eye for detail is essential to prevent damage to products and ensure accurate inventory placement. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure safety and functionality.
- Assist with order picking and staging for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all warehouse Safety regulations and use required PPE.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or Safety hazards immediately.
- Engage in tasks requiring frequent Lifting and maneuvering of goods.
- Support overall logistics operations and contribute to team efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting and extended standing.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Must wear required PPE at all times.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to Safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
