About
We are looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to join our Grand Rapids, Michigan logistics team. This role is critical for the efficient and safe movement of goods within our distribution center. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, move inventory, and support various warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is a certified and skilled operator with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency, understanding the importance of adhering to all regulations, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to transport materials, products, and equipment within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with receiving, put-away, and order picking processes.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through diligent material handling.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from potential hazards.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and meet logistics targets.
- Operate other warehouse equipment as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Forklift Operator certification and a proven track record of safe operation.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the critical role of PPE.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and manual dexterity.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Commitment to operational excellence and safety in logistics.
