About
We are looking for a skilled and certified Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move materials within our distribution center. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. A strong emphasis on **Safety**, adherence to operational procedures, and a commitment to maintaining a productive work environment are key requirements. This position is vital to our **Logistics** infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of equipment, ensuring functionality and reporting any issues.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items to and from designated warehouse locations.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Assist with inventory control, ensuring accurate placement and tracking of goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all housekeeping standards.
- Strictly comply with all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Follow all standard operating procedures for warehouse and logistics operations.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or operational inefficiencies.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed, such as picking, packing, or staging orders.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA).
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, safety regulations, and inventory management principles.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and spatial awareness.
- A strong commitment to workplace Safety and accident prevention.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts and overtime as required.
