We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Detroit, Michigan. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse facility. This role is critical to our overall operations, ensuring timely loading and unloading of trucks, organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of forklift operation principles, a commitment to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics setting. You will be operating various types of forklifts to move raw materials, finished goods, and other inventory items. This position requires attention to detail to accurately track inventory movements and ensure proper handling of goods. Adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is paramount. This includes wearing safety vests, steel-toed boots, and any other required gear to ensure your well-being and the safety of others. You will be expected to perform routine checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working order, reporting any issues immediately.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any malfunctions.
- Maintain an organized and clean warehouse environment.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Handle various materials with care, considering weight and fragility.
- Be comfortable with lifting requirements for certain tasks.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating forklifts is required.
- Valid forklift certification is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong commitment to safety and PPE usage.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
