We are seeking experienced and certified Forklift Operators to join our dedicated logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload materials within our warehouse. Your expertise in forklift operation is crucial for maintaining inventory flow, supporting order fulfillment, and ensuring the overall efficiency of our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will possess a current forklift certification, a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures, and a keen eye for detail. You will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with other warehouse staff to meet daily operational demands. We are committed to providing a secure and productive workplace, and adherence to all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE, is mandatory. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Stack and arrange inventory in designated areas according to warehouse layout and safety standards.
- Transport goods from receiving to storage, and from storage to shipping areas.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Assist with inventory counts and checks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles and pathways are clear.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including safe lifting practices.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Ensure the proper use and wearing of required PPE at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and climbing as needed.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
- Understanding of logistics and material handling principles.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and wear required PPE.
