We are seeking a dedicated Distribution Center Associate to join our team in the heart of New York City, New York. This role is essential for maintaining the seamless operation of our distribution hub, managing inventory, and ensuring timely fulfillment of orders. You will be involved in various aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping. Accuracy, efficiency, and a strong commitment to safety are paramount in this fast-paced urban logistics environment. The ideal candidate is physically capable, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent teamwork skills. You will be responsible for handling goods, which involves consistent lifting and movement. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is non-negotiable.Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify inbound shipments.
- Stock and organize inventory within the distribution center.
- Accurately pick and pack orders for shipment using RF scanners.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including labeling and staging.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stocktaking.
- Meet performance metrics for productivity and order accuracy.
- Follow all lifting guidelines and safe material handling practices.
- Previous experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or logistics role preferred.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Knowledge of safe lifting techniques.
