We are seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk for our Indianapolis, Indiana warehouse. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that all deliveries are accurately documented, inspected, and stored. Your attention to detail is critical in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the overall efficiency of our logistics operations. This position requires a commitment to upholding strict safety standards and following established procedures. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from trucks and various carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect all incoming merchandise for damage or discrepancies and report any issues.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system.
- Stage received products for distribution to appropriate warehouse areas.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently as needed (certification may be required).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially concerning safety and the use of PPE .
- Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal warehouse staff.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, contributing to overall team success.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in warehouse receiving or inventory control is preferred.
- Proficiency in using scanning equipment and inventory management software.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of wearing appropriate PPE .
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes is advantageous.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a warehouse environment and handle physical demands.
- Willingness to follow all safety regulations and wear mandatory PPE .
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
