We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient flow of goods within our distribution center, contributing directly to our overall logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with various types of forklifts and warehouse equipment is essential. We are committed to maintaining a secure and productive workplace, and adherence to all safety protocols is paramount. This role involves significant physical activity and requires candidates to be comfortable with repetitive tasks. Your primary focus will be on loading and unloading trucks, moving materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas, and assisting with inventory management. Proper use of PPE is mandatory at all times, and you will be trained on all specific equipment and procedures to ensure your well-being and the integrity of our operations. Responsibilities also include performing routine inspections of forklift equipment and reporting any malfunctions or damages immediately. You will collaborate closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and management to ensure smooth and timely order fulfillment. The ability to read load tags and/or move and hand-write tags is necessary. Experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is strongly preferred. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear required PPE .
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Support logistics operations by ensuring timely movement of goods.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Ensure proper handling of all products to prevent damage.
- Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.
Qualifications:
- Valid Forklift Operator certification (or ability to obtain).
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Proficiency in lifting and maneuvering materials safely.
- Strong understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory principles.
- Commitment to upholding high safety standards and proper PPE usage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
