We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Warehouse Technician to join our dynamic logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations, equipment maintenance, and inventory control systems. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods within our facility. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various warehouse machinery, including conveyor belts, forklifts, and automated systems. A key aspect of this position involves proactive troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity. Adherence to strict safety protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are paramount. This position requires consistent manual labor, including significant Lifting of items up to 50 pounds. Experience with diagnostic tools and a good mechanical aptitude are essential. You will collaborate with other warehouse staff and management to optimize warehouse processes and contribute to our overall logistics success. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Adhere to all Safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
- Support operational goals and contribute to overall logistics efficiency.
- Participate in regular Safety training sessions.
- Handle tasks involving regular Lifting and moving of materials.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a technician or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of warehouse equipment and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
- Familiarity with Safety standards and PPE requirements.
- Physical stamina for extended periods of work and substantial Lifting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
