We are seeking an experienced and certified Forklift Operator for our Minneapolis, Minnesota facility. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to manage inventory movement within our warehouse. You will handle tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, transferring materials between different areas of the facility, and supporting our overall logistics operations. A strong emphasis is placed on safety; all operators must strictly adhere to all safety protocols and consistently use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Your duties will involve navigating warehouse aisles, stacking products accurately, and ensuring the integrity of goods during transport. We require a valid forklift certification and a demonstrated ability to operate various types of forklifts safely. This position involves periods of continuous forklift operation, as well as potential manual lifting. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve inventory and materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently and accurately.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas, ensuring proper placement.
- Conduct daily safety inspections of forklifts and report any defects or concerns.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment, free from hazards.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Collaborate effectively with warehouse staff to achieve operational goals.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Ensure all material handling is done in compliance with safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA).
- Minimum of 2 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and spatial reasoning skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions typical of a warehouse.
