About
We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth flow of inventory within our distribution center, supporting our overall logistics operations. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be instrumental in loading and unloading trucks, moving materials to and from production or storage areas, and maintaining an organized warehouse. A strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and organize inventory in a safe and orderly manner.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and location verification.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to ensure efficient operations.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
