About
*Critical Tasks: *
* Maintains exclusive focus upon patients/residents, the quality of their care, and their individual needs without significant distraction by administrative and non-patient contact activities.
* Evaluates hearing and speech/language tests as well as medical background information to diagnose and plan successful treatments for speech, language, fluency, voice and swallowing disorders.
* Provides inpatient or outpatient occupational therapy services including screenings, consultations, evaluations and ongoing treatments.
* Plans, directs, and conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology.
* Provides high quality evidenced-based speech therapy.
* Evaluates and accurately documents patient progress and continually adjusts treatment methodologies accordingly.
* Develops, adjusts and manages individual patient plans of care.
* Consults with other members of rehabilitation team to select treatment methods consistent with the needs and conditions of individual patients.
* Undertakes treatment methodologies suited to individual's capacity, intelligence, and interests to assist in restoration of speech and language functions, and aid in adjustment to disability.
* Provides counseling, guidance and language development therapy to otherwise disabled individuals.
* Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
* Reviews treatment plans, and assesses individual performance to modify, change, or write new programs.
* Instructs individuals to monitor their own speech and provides ways to practice new skills.
* Conducts research to develop diagnostic and remedial speech therapy techniques.
* Serves as a consultant to classroom teachers to incorporate speech and language development activities into daily schedules as necessary.
* Maintains high productivity and consults/serves 8-16 patients per shift.
* Provides timely medical documentation in accordance with all regulatory and payor requirements.
* Participates and consults in interdisciplinary therapies care coordination and program discharge planning.
* Complies fully with all regulatory and information privacy standards and mandates.
* Teaches manual sign language to patientโs incapable of speaking.
* Supervises and provides effective training to multiple employees.
* Demonstrates ability to regularly change priorities to accomplish all tasks despite frequent interruptions.
* Demonstrates ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, while performing all essential functions.
* Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
*Required Qualifications: *
* Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology.
* Arizona Speech Language Pathology License in good standing.
* LSVT training and experience preferred.
* 3 years of experience treating patients in licensed Speech and Language pathology/therapy facility.
* Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures.
* Employment at the Caring House requires: AZ Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card within 60 days in position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42.95 - $55.86 per hour
