About
We are in search of a part time dental hygienist to join our busy small office family!
We work in a relaxed patient oriented atmosphere where our top priority is the patient experience. We have two dentists who have been working together for 30 years, two dental assistants, one hygienist and two front desk staff. Our team works together to make sure everyone's job is comfortable and runs smoothly.
We see patients Monday 1-8, Tuesday 9-5, Thursday 1-8 and Saturday 9-1
Our evening and Saturday hours book up so well and so far in advance that we would love to add another hygienist to our team who would start with working evenings and Saturdays. However, we can work with your schedule and would be happy to customize what works best for you during any of our open hours.

*Responsibilities*
* Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
* Sterilize dental instruments properly
* Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
* Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
* Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
* Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
* Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
* Take X-rays
* Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
* Maintain documentation and digital charts on each patient
* Monitor supplies

* Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role
* In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
* Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
* Outstanding communication skills
* A patient and friendly personality
* Attention to detail
* Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
* Diploma in Dental Hygiene
* Valid license to practice
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
