About
We are seeking experienced Forklift Operators for our large-scale distribution center in Chicago, Illinois. This role is essential for maintaining the efficient movement of goods within our logistics hub. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to transport, load, unload, and store a variety of materials. Your primary focus will be on ensuring safe material handling, supporting inventory accuracy, and contributing to overall warehouse productivity. Safety is our top priority, and strict adherence to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE, is required. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled operator with a proven track record of safety, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and the ability to work collaboratively with the warehouse team. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers in a timely and efficient manner.
- Transport materials to and from production, receiving, and shipping areas.
- Assist with inventory control tasks, including put-away and stock checks.
- Perform daily pre-operational inspections of forklifts and report any defects immediately.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the strict use of PPE.
- Follow established logistics procedures for material handling and storage.
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Responsible for safe Lifting of products up to 70 lbs.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to optimize workflow.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or distribution environment. Valid forklift operator certification. Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts. Deep understanding of warehouse operations, safety procedures, and logistics principles. Must be able to pass a forklift skills assessment. Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of heavy items. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Understanding of and compliance with PPE requirements is mandatory. Strong communication skills.
