We are currently seeking a skilled and committed individual to join our team as a CHILD PROTECTION WORKER:
- Temporary Full-Time (up to 18-month contract).
- $66,018 - $86,789 per year.
- (34 hours per week).
Under the mandate of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, major responsibilities include:
- Investigation of complaints and referrals relating to children in need of protection, requests for service to adolescents and child abuse referrals.
- Collection of information and assessment of situations.
- Provision of emergency / crisis intervention service when required.
- Works with parents and/or parent substitutes, and children in their own homes to collaborate with other community resources, and/or extended family in the efforts to prevent or alleviate situations which may be detrimental to the family functioning and/or to the well-being of the children.
- Works with the population that is dealing with addictions and mental health issues.
- Focuses on community engagement and building partnerships with those in our community who work with and support children, youth and families dealing with addictions and mental health issues.
- Collaborates with other services within the organization and community to ensure the best possible service to the family.
- Provides coverage across all service functions within the team.
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor of Social Work and/or a Master of Social Work from an accredited post-secondary educational institution. Candidates must also have a valid Ontario driver's license, access to a personal vehicle with a minimum occupancy of 4 - 5 passengers, and proof of two-million-dollar liability insurance coverage. The successful candidate will be required to provide a Vulnerable Sector check, and a Driver's Abstract from the Ministry of Transportation, satisfactory to the organization.
