Job Overview

We're seeking a results-driven leader to spearhead our produce team.

  • This role is responsible for driving daily operations, including profitability, expense management, buying, merchandising, labor management, regulatory compliance, and special projects as assigned.
  • The successful candidate will be accountable for hiring, developing, and mentoring team members, as well as conducting performance evaluations and making personnel decisions.

All Whole Foods Market Retail jobs require ensuring a positive company image by providing excellent customer service at all times. Team members must be prepared and able to perform the duties inherent in other team member job descriptions. All positions must strive to support WFM core values and goals, promote national, regional, and store programs and initiatives, and ensure adherence to all applicable health and safety regulations including Food Safety and regulatory duties required in the department.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Hold team members accountable for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  2. Create a positive work environment characterized by outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and high morale.
  3. Making strategic hiring and separation decisions.
  4. Responsible for monitoring and achieving sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
  5. Maintain optimal product assortment, merchandising, and inventory control.
  6. Foster collaborative relationships with department leaders and vendors.
  7. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor analysis.
  8. Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution.
  9. Cultivate a positive work environment that fosters teamwork, respect, and high morale.
  10. Analyze customer flows and needs, directing team members accordingly to satisfy and delight customers; respond promptly to customer inquiries.
  11. Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members to sustain a high-performing team and minimize turnover.
  12. Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.
  13. Consistently communicate and model WFM vision and goals.
