Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Private Events & Catering Manager with strong restaurant operations experience. This is a full-time, on-the-floor leadership role — not a remote sales position.
The ideal candidate will work regular restaurant hours, and own all private event bookings, large-party reservations, and catering sales and promotions from inquiry through execution.
This role requires someone who understands how to balance sales growth, guest experience, and operational realities in a busy, full-service restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
Private Events & Large Party Bookings
- Manage all private dining and large-party inquiries
- Convert inquiries into confirmed bookings while maximizing revenue
- Guide guests through menu options, pricing, and event formats
- Maintain flexibility in room assignments based on operational needs
- Prepare clear event details and internal notes for seamless execution
Catering Sales & Promotions
- Drive catering and event sales through proactive outreach and promotions
- Coordinate off-site catering logistics, menus, pricing, and staffing
- Partner with ownership on marketing initiatives and sales strategy
- Identify opportunities for repeat business and corporate accounts
Event Execution & Guest Experience
- Oversee on-site private events as needed
- Ensure clear communication between clients and internal teams
- Handle changes, special requests, and last-minute adjustments
- Follow up post-event to build long-term client relationships
Systems & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records in booking and POS/Tripleseat event systems
- Track deposits, contracts, and event revenue
- Provide regular updates and forecasts to ownership
Qualifications
- 3+ years of restaurant management experience (required)
- Proven experience with private events, catering, or group dining sales
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations and service flow
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Sales-driven mindset with operational discipline
- Ability to work full-time restaurant hours, including evenings and weekends
What We're Looking For
- A leader who leads from the floor
- A strong operator who can also sell
- Someone who understands that great events start with great operations
- A professional who takes ownership and follows through
Compensation
- Competitive salary + Commissions
- Growth opportunity within a well-established restaurant group
