We are seeking skilled Forklift Operators to join our logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is critical for the efficient and safe movement of materials within our distribution facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, move, and stack products, ensuring smooth operations from receiving to shipping. Safety is our highest priority, and all operators must strictly follow safety regulations and utilize the appropriate PPE at all times. The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, excellent operational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. You will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the overall productivity of the warehouse. Regular safety training and performance reviews are standard.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, electric) to move inventory and materials.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and securely.
- Transport goods to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with put-away, stock rotation, and inventory counts.
- Conduct daily forklift inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Follow established logistics procedures for all material handling tasks.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance as required.
- Responsible for safe Lifting of items weighing up to 65 lbs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting. Valid forklift certification required. Demonstrated proficiency in operating various types of forklifts. Thorough understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols. Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials. Strong commitment to safety and adherence to PPE guidelines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Must be reliable and punctual. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
