We are actively seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dedicated team in Madison, Wisconsin. This position is integral to the smooth functioning of our warehouse and the broader logistics network. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload materials within our facility. The ideal candidate possesses proven experience, a strong commitment to Safety, and exceptional control over powered industrial trucks. Your daily tasks will involve ensuring that all movements of goods are conducted with precision and care, preventing damage to products and ensuring workplace Safety. You will conduct routine inspections of equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition and reporting any maintenance needs. Collaboration with other warehouse personnel is key to maintaining efficient workflows. Strict adherence to all Safety guidelines and the mandatory use of appropriate PPE are essential components of this role. The ability to perform moderate Lifting is also a requirement. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and proficiently to transport goods within the warehouse.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Stack and organize inventory according to established procedures.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any defects.
- Follow all Safety protocols and warehouse procedures meticulously.
- Ensure proper handling and securing of loads.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Wear and use all required PPE correctly.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed to support logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to adhering to Safety standards and wearing PPE.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
- Must be reliable and able to work flexible hours if needed.
