We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Engineer to join our Master Data Management (MDM) team. This Level 9 role is critical in designing, developing, and implementing robust MDM solutions, primarily within our Stibo (STEP) platform, to empower our business with high?quality, reliable data. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise in JavaScript development, deep knowledge of data architecture and modeling, and a keen eye for user experience in data entry and maintenance. This role emphasizes delivering features with business velocity while strictly adhering to foundational data modeling principles and ensuring best?in?class data quality. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, documenting, and optimizing the flow of data within our organization, ensuring it accurately reflects and supports our physical processes and systems. You will play a key role in designing and implementing improvements to our data lifecycle management, including Item Lifecycle Management. Responsibilities Process Engineering: Encourage requirements gathering, strong process understanding, documentation, and policy design and enforcement. Align the digital data environment and process to the physical network it informs.
Process Observation and Documentation:
Observe and analyze how our digital data ecosystem mirrors physical processes and systems. Document data flows, information flows, and integration flows using engineering best practice documentation techniques. Perform Current State Assessments, Target State Design, and Gap Analysis.
Software Development:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of new features and enhancements for MDM software. Focus on physical JavaScript coding within the Stibo environment.
Data Architecture & Integration:
Architect and optimize data structures within the MDM system, ensuring seamless integration.
Data Modeling & Lifecycle Management:
Apply advanced data modeling techniques to ensure data integrity and performance. Implement and manage data lifecycle principles. Develop strategies to improve data quality, governance, and compliance.
Feature Delivery & Velocity:
Drive rapid delivery of high?quality features to production.
Foundational Data Principles:
Ensure all decisions adhere to foundational data modeling principles.
User Interface Design:
Design intuitive and efficient user interfaces for data entry, maintenance, and consumption.
Data Quality & Engineering Practices:
Implement robust data quality guardrails and advanced engineering practices.
Collaboration:
Partner closely with business stakeholders, data stewards, and other engineering teams.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 4+ years of progressive experience in software development, focusing on data?intensive applications and MDM. Experience mapping current state processes and designing improved future state processes. Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma. Experience with data analysis to drive process improvement recommendations. Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining data and analytics systems. Experience with data modeling and database design. Experience with DevOps practices and automation.
Technical Proficiency:
Expert?level proficiency in JavaScript development, STEP APIs, and Java extensions. Proficiency in business process modeling and notation. Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Knowledge of data integration techniques and tools.
MDM Platform Experience:
Experience working with Stibo (STEP) MDM platform.
Data Expertise:
Strong foundation in data architecture, integration, modeling, and lifecycle management. Understanding of data governance and data quality principles. Understanding of system security and data privacy principles. Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
UI/UX Acumen:
Design user?centric interfaces for data entry and management systems.
Collaboration & Communication:
Excellent communication skills. Facilitates workshops and gathers requirements.
Agile Mindset:
Experience working in an agile development environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Information Systems or related field. Deep knowledge of Stibo (STEP) modules. Familiarity with cloud?based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
