Quality Assurance Specialist
to plan and carry out tasks dealing with the Department's Quality Assurance program, construction materials testing, training laboratory technicians, training documentation, and specification writing.
This is a temporary position, and hours will be limited to approximately 12 hours per week, but hours may vary as work demands. Examples of duties include: Organize, plan and document Sampler/Tester Qualification Committee (STQC) business meetings, hearings and communications. Prepare a policy/procedure to steward Idaho testing standards modeled on the AAHSTO system of standards review. Follow through on making assignments and stewardship. Prepare a policy/procedure of reviewing accepting or modifying yearly National and Regional testing & procedural standards updates. Assist in planning and implementing an on-the-job Inspection Qualification program. Plan an easy-to-use nexus for Training and Construction Materials staff to audit, proof and post training records. Plan and execute process to integrate records and post for qualification training qualifications. Design a statewide quality management system for all ITD labs including field labs. The ideal candidate will be able to function independently and within a self-directed team, operate in potentially stressful situations, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A strong attention to detail, ability to work well with others, and strong communication skills are key. The selected incumbent must also possess practical experience in adult training, and highway construction materials testing.
