The Maui Veterinary Clinic is a locally owned family practice that has strong ties to our local community. We have an amazing opportunity for a friendly and energetic team player to join our O’hana as a Permanent Full Time EXPERIENCED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN. You will be joining our talented and exceptional staff of highly trained veterinary professionals. The successful candidate will be a professional with a positive attitude and extensive experience as a Veterinary Technician in a fast paced dynamic work environment. We are looking for an individual who is energetic, highly self motivated and capable of multitasking and working independently in a busy small animal hospital environment.
The successful candidate must be competent in phlebotomy, catheter placement and diagnostics. You will be assisting the veterinarian in performing general physical exams, preparing vaccines and serums, preparing tissue samples, taking blood samples, and running laboratory tests such as computerized biochemistries, urinalysis and blood counts. You will be responsible for cleaning and sterilizing instruments and materials, and aid in maintaining medical equipment and machines. You will be responsible for administering medications and the continued ongoing care of our hospitalized patients. The candidate will have experience in preparing for, and assisting in surgery and providing routine postoperative care.
