Insight Global is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join one of their railcar manufacturing and leasing clients in Farmers Branch, TX. This role will be working with the senior individuals on the team to assist with the maintenance and operational support of a custom-built application. As this application transitions from an on-premise environment to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, this position will focus on the post-deployment support and maintenance. The ideal candidate will be skilled within the Azure platform and technologies, SQL development, and data integration and analysis. Day to day responsibilities include: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines. Integrate data from various sources using tools like Azure Data Factory, SQL, and other ETL frameworks. Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements. Monitor and optimize data workflows for performance and reliability. Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data processes. Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in data engineering. Skills and requirements: 1-2 years of experience within the Azure platform and technologies. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 2 years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or data analysis. Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL). Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, especially Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, and Azure SQL. Familiarity with data integration techniques and ETL/ELT processes. Familiarity of data modeling and data warehousing concepts through coursework or working experience. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). A basic understanding or exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in data engineering. Exposure to data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
