We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring the overall integrity of our warehouse stock. This role is critical to our operations, impacting everything from order fulfillment to financial reporting. You will work closely with warehouse staff, management, and other departments to resolve inventory issues promptly and efficiently. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management systems is essential. This position requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Your contributions will directly support our commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by tracing shortages and overages.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels and identify reorder points to prevent stockouts.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Train new employees on inventory control processes and **PPE** usage.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with shipping and receiving departments to ensure proper documentation and tracking.
- Ensure all **safety** regulations and guidelines are followed within the warehouse environment.
- Assist with **lifting** and moving of inventory as needed during audits and stock checks.
- Contribute to a positive and productive work environment focused on **logistics** efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role.
- Proficiency with WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to **lift** up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of warehouse **safety** protocols and **PPE** requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
