We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all outgoing shipments. Your duties will include verifying shipping orders, preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all packages are properly packed and handled. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position is crucial to our supply chain operations, ensuring our products reach their destinations on time and in perfect condition. We emphasize a strong commitment to safety and require all employees to adhere to established safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately process and prepare all outgoing shipments.
- Verify shipping orders against packed goods.
- Generate and affix shipping labels and documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain organized and tidy shipping and receiving areas.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Proper use of company-provided PPE is mandatory.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting as required for package handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and common office applications.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
