About
Our expanding logistics hub in Durham, North Carolina, is seeking skilled Forklift Operators to join our team. This critical role involves the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, stock, and retrieve materials throughout the warehouse. You will be essential in maintaining the flow of goods, supporting both receiving and shipping departments, and ensuring the integrity of inventory. A strong commitment to safety, adherence to operational procedures, and experience with various forklift types are key to success in this position. You will be working in a dynamic environment where precision and reliability are paramount to our logistics success.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently in a warehouse environment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and other transport vehicles.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items to designated locations within the facility.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, warehouse procedures, and the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including stocking and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment.
- Possess the ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, when necessary.
- Support all aspects of our complex logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and a minimum of 1-2 years of experience.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrated understanding of PPE requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
