Seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics operations in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be integral to the efficient processing and dispatch of outgoing shipments. Your responsibilities will include verifying order details, preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all shipments meet quality and safety standards. This role requires excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will be a key point of contact for ensuring our logistics reach their destinations on time and in perfect condition.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately document and track all outgoing shipments.
- Prepare bills of lading, shipping manifests, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing orders against shipping documents.
- Inspect packages for damage and ensure proper packaging procedures are followed.
- Operate shipping software and maintain accurate shipping records.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, which may include occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Ensure compliance with all domestic and international shipping regulations, supporting our complex logistics needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common office applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable and able to work independently.
