About
We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Nashville, Tennessee. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a critical role in the accurate and timely preparation of all outgoing shipments. Your responsibilities will include verifying orders, packaging items securely, and ensuring all documentation is in order for carrier pickup. You will work in a busy warehouse environment where organization and adherence to procedures are essential. Our company is dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment, providing comprehensive training, and requiring the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities:
- Verify outgoing orders against shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
- Select appropriate packaging materials to ensure products are protected during transit.
- Package items securely and efficiently, preparing them for shipment.
- Print and affix shipping labels, tracking numbers, and any necessary documentation.
- Stage completed shipments in designated areas for carrier pickup.
- Operate pallet jacks and other manual equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control by reporting any discrepancies found during the shipping process.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and carriers to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar warehouse/logistics role is desirable.
- Ability to read and understand shipping orders and product information.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and shipping procedures.
- A strong commitment to safety and the use of PPE.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
