Join our growing logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana, as a Material Handler! This position is essential for the smooth operation of our warehouse, focusing on the efficient movement of materials and products. As a Material Handler, you will operate forklifts and other equipment to transport goods within the facility, assist with loading and unloading trucks, and help maintain inventory accuracy. Your role will directly impact our ability to meet customer demands and maintain a high level of service. We prioritize a safe working environment, and adherence to safety protocols is non-negotiable. This is a hands-on role for individuals who thrive in an active warehouse setting and enjoy being part of a productive team.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of goods.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE, and participate in safety training.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Support the logistics team in various operational tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift certification or proven experience operating forklifts.
- Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be comfortable wearing required PPE.
