We are actively recruiting a skilled Forklift Operator to join our bustling logistics hub in Portland, Oregon. This role is essential for the efficient movement of materials within our warehouse, playing a key part in our supply chain operations. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to load, unload, and transport goods, ensuring accuracy and speed. A strong focus on safety is non-negotiable, and you will be expected to adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE . This position offers a great opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team in the heart of Portland’s distribution network. Proper handling and lifting of materials are critical aspects of this job.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach) to move products and materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload delivery trucks and containers with efficiency and care.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts to ensure operational readiness and report any issues.
- Follow all Safety regulations, warehouse protocols, and company policies.
- Ensure the correct and consistent use of required PPE .
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts.
- Apply proper Lifting techniques to handle various types of goods.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
- Contribute to the overall effectiveness of our Logistics operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
- Previous, verifiable experience operating forklifts.
- Forklift certification is strongly preferred.
- Ability to perform significant Lifting (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
- A keen awareness of warehouse Safety best practices.
- Commitment to wearing and utilizing all assigned PPE .
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and Logistics principles.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
