Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts to load, unload, and move materials, equipment, and inventory.
- Perform routine checks on forklifts and other warehouse equipment before and after use, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Transport goods from receiving areas to storage areas and from storage to shipping docks.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by ensuring correct placement and quantity of items.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of PPE.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of obstructions to ensure efficient workflow and safety.
- Pick and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
- Participate in regular safety training and team meetings.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, which may include manual lifting and other tasks.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting. Valid forklift certification is required. Physical ability to perform tasks including frequent lifting, bending, and reaching, with the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds. A strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all PPE requirements is essential. Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices. Ability to read and understand labels, manifests, and instructions. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. High school diploma or GED is preferred. Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role is crucial for maintaining our logistics efficiency.
