We are seeking a skilled and motivated Warehouse Technician to join our dynamic team in Des Moines, Iowa. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment within our distribution center, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Your expertise will directly contribute to the overall productivity and success of our logistics operations. You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and conduct safety inspections to prevent downtime. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse machinery and a commitment to upholding the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all warehouse equipment, including conveyor systems, forklifts, and automated machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues promptly.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning optimally and safely according to manufacturer specifications and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety checks and ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Adhere to strict safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE .
- Assist with installations and upgrades of new equipment.
- Collaborate with other departments to minimize operational disruptions during maintenance.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with new technologies and repair techniques.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic Lifting techniques and safe material handling practices.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field is required. Proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Experience in a Logistics environment is a plus. Commitment to workplace Safety is paramount.
