As a Material Handler, you will operate various types of equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery, to load, unload, transport, and store materials. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth flow of inventory, maintaining accurate records, and upholding the highest standards of safety. We require strict adherence to all safety regulations and the consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This role involves frequent lifting and the operation of heavy machinery, demanding physical strength and a strong commitment to safe work practices. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and store materials in appropriate locations, ensuring proper rotation.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counting.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any issues.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Follow all company policies and logistics protocols.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to operational improvements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including significant lifting and moving of goods (up to 70 pounds).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of logistics and inventory management principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
