Job Summary:
We are hiring a skilled Material Handler in Detroit, Michigan! As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in the smooth functioning of our warehouse and logistics operations. Your primary focus will be on the movement, storage, and organization of materials and products. This includes operating forklifts and other heavy machinery, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring that inventory is managed efficiently and accurately. Safety is our top priority, and all personnel are expected to strictly adhere to safety protocols and utilize the required PPE. You will work collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to meet operational goals and maintain a high level of productivity. Responsibilities:
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
  • Load and unload materials from trucks and containers
  • Transport materials to and from designated storage areas
  • Ensure proper stacking and storage of inventory
  • Assist with inventory management and cycle counts
  • Inspect equipment regularly for maintenance and safety issues
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse and logistics teams
  • Report any discrepancies or safety hazards immediately

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role
  • Valid forklift operator certification is required
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 60 pounds
  • Understanding of warehouse safety regulations
  • Experience with logistics and inventory control systems is a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work flexible hours if needed
  • Commitment to a safe working culture and proper use of PPE
