Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced and certified Forklift Operators to join our busy logistics hub in Detroit, Michigan. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. Your skill and precision in operating various types of forklifts will be essential to maintaining our workflow and ensuring timely processing of inbound and outbound shipments. This role is critical to the success of our logistics operations, requiring a strong commitment to safety and a keen eye for detail. You will work closely with warehouse associates and supervisors to coordinate material handling needs. We provide a safe working environment, including all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and expect strict adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures. Comprehensive training on our specific equipment and safety protocols will be provided. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification and a proven track record of safe operation. Responsibilities:
  • Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and unstack pallets and materials.
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers.
  • Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
  • Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues immediately.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of PPE and safe operating practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of material movements.
  • Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work area, free from obstructions.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet daily goals.
  • Understand the broader logistics and supply chain processes to anticipate needs.
  • Follow specific protocols for handling different types of materials.
  • Ability to perform occasional manual lifting and material handling.
