About
We are seeking a diligent and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Houston, Texas. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth operation of our warehouse, ensuring that materials are moved efficiently and safely. The Material Handler will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, relocating inventory within the warehouse, and preparing orders for shipment. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to safety protocols are essential. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move goods.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated areas.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment to ensure proper working condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and stock checks.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or safety hazards immediately.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 pounds consistently. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods. A commitment to workplace safety and a strong work ethic are required. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are necessary for this role. Must be reliable and punctual.
