Seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our logistics team in sunny Tampa, Florida. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficient flow of materials within our distribution center. The ideal candidate will be adept at operating various material handling equipment, committed to safety, and possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and moving goods throughout the facility. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload materials from incoming shipments.
- Transport materials within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Sort, organize, and store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- Prepare materials for outgoing shipments, including staging and labeling.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist in cycle counting.
- Operate all material handling equipment safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other relevant equipment (certification preferred).
- Ability to handle heavy lifting, up to 55 pounds, on a consistent basis.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
